ROSE TOWNSHIP, Michigan – Red, white and blue illuminated the gymnasium of Rose Pioneer Elementary School on Thursday, as second grade students presented a Memorial Day Assembly to their fellow students, parents, grandparents, friends and veterans. “Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day – I’d forgotten that, but it’s true,” Beattie said. “It’s a day when we honor the men and woman who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.” |
