HOLLY, Michigan – With the Class of 2012 numbering 272 students, Holly High School announced its Top Ten graduating seniors this week.
JENNIFER BECKNER – Co-Valedictorian
Graduating with a 4.0 GPA, Co-Valedictorian Jennifer Beckner is the daughter of Alice and Allen Beckner.
Undecided as to what school she will attend, Jennifer said she will choose between attending the University of Kentucky, Grand Valley State University’s Honors College, or the University of Michigan where she will major in a vocation that is either math or science-oriented, and minor in Spanish.
Jennifer’s hobbies include running, photography, Spanish, Youth Group and mission trips, water skiing, and working with children and animals.
RYAN HOULDSWORTH – Co-Valedictorian
The son of Ward and Deanna Houldsworth, Co-Valedictorian Ryan Houldsworth also carries a 4.0 GPA.
Having received a 4-year scholarship to Oakland University, Ryan will attend the OU Honors College where he will major in the medical field. Ryan’s goal is to become an Emergency Room doctor.
Ryan says he will always remember playing football for the Bronchos for the last four years, and has enjoyed being able to spend so much time with his best friends.
JOSEPH THOMAS - Salutatorian
Joesph Thomas is the Salutatorian for the Class of 2012, and is the son of Robert and Rebecca Thomas.
Joe will attend Michigan Technological University in the fall where he will pursue a degree in Interdisciplinary Engineering, hopefully allowing him to eventually work in the area of green technology.
Joe’s interests include football, baseball, hunting and fishing.
Liana Periard is the daughter of Mark and Mary Periard and is graduating with a 3.986 GPA.
After graduation, Liana plans on attending the Frederick Meijer Honors College at Grand Valley State University. There, Liana will pursue a degree in Hospitality and Tourism management, and specifically focus in special events coordination. Additionally, Liana hopes to minor in the study of foreign language and business management.
Liana’s school interests include Class Council and the Interact Club. In her free time, she works as a part time nanny, takes Zumba classes, and enjoys spending time at the lake with her friends and family.
Graduating with a 3.976, Rachel Domagalski is the daughter of Dan and Sandie Domagalski.
Following graduation, Rachel will attend Central Michigan University where she is planning to major in neuroscience and minoring in mathematics. Rachel plans to go into the physician’s assistant program through CMU.
Rachel’s interests include pole vaulting, youth group, fishing, reading, snowboarding, euchre, going to the beach, video games, drawing, bike riding, and spending time with family and friends.
Kaitlin McNeil is the daughter of Daniel and Barbara McNeil, and is graduating with a 3.966 GPA.
Attending Oakland University in the fall, Kaitlin will pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing while minoring in Spanish. Kaitlin also plans on pursuing a Master’s Degree in nursing practice so that she can become a nurse practitioner.
Kaitlin’s interests include reading, knitting and Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her dog, Sammie, volunteering and writing letters to friends and family members.
The son of Amy and Joel Lewandowski, AJ is graduating with a 3.964 GPA.
AJ will use a four-year scholarship at Ferris State University to begin his college career in the medical field, and later plans to transfer to either Life or Palmer University where it is his plan to become a chiropractor.
His interests include hockey, football, playing the guitar, video games, hunting, fishing, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.
Tess Vindischman is graduating with a 3.948 GPA, and is the daughter of Gerri McHugh and David Vindischman.
Tess will attend the Honors College at Michigan State University where she will pursue a degree in the medical field. While Tess looks forward to studying bioethics, statistics and physiology, she also plans to continue her studies in Spanish as a dual major.
A lifelong equestrian, Tess has trained and ridden horses since the age of 4. At MSU, Tess looks forward to riding with the polo team, and this summer, will be travelling to France and Spain.
Tess hopes to also study abroad over the course of her education at MSU.
Anthony Hansen is the son of Tina Moore and is graduating with a 3.953 GPA.
Anthony will attend Eastern Michigan University in the fall where he hopes to become a professor in mathematics or chemistry.
His interests include soccer, Spanish, youth group, and taking part in the Science Olympiad.
The daughter of Edward and Catherine Timm, Hannah Timm carries a 3.94 GPA.
Hannah will use a four-year scholarship to attend Wayne State University where she hopes to one day become a neonatologist.
Hannah’s interests include volleyball, Spanish, and working with children.
The graduation ceremony for the HHS Class of 2012 is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, June 1 at Oakland University’s Orena.
