ROSE TOWNSHIP, Michigan – After several months of interviews and extensive research, the Rose Township Fact Finding Panel rendered its final report to township officials last month.
The five-member panel was appointed in December and met bi-weekly from February through May, reviewing statements made at the Nov. 11 meeting by Rose Township resident, Jim Hanks. Hanks accused former Supervisor Chet Koop and Building Inspector Dave Schang for permitting, renovating and issuing a certificate of occupancy to the township’s 9080 Mason St. facility knowing that the building did not meet Michigan building codes and/or American Disability Act barrier-free compliance.

Residents say it's impossible ... HOLLY, Michigan – Stiff’s mill pond has long been the focal point of Holly, but this year, residents say they are appalled by the weedy conditions that are impeding on recreational activities, and causing big odor problems.
Jim Clark, a Hadley Street resident spoke on the matter during the July 13 Village Council meeting.
“The mill pond is in very bad shape right now – we’re very close right now, I think, to having a significant fish kill there,” Clark said. “We could blame Mother Nature for part of it, but I clearly blame the village and the DPW for contributing significantly to the problem.”

Dennis Pittman, president of the NOCRC said he had spent the last three weeks putting the finishing touches on picnic details, and that Hoffman’s farm offered the perfect venue for the family-oriented picnic.
