Residents say it's impossible ... HOLLY, Michigan – While Eurasian milfoil was to blame for previous weedy conditions in Holly’s millpond, Paul Dominick, a representative of Lake Pro, Inc. informed council members that it’s now an overgrowth of native plants that is contributing to the stagnant conditions of the nearly 15-acre pond.
Last month, Hadley Street resident Jim Clark spoke out against millpond conditions, accusing village management and the Department of Public Works for contributing to the problem by opening the millpond’s dam too soon after the initial chemical treatment had been administered in May.

HOLLY, Michigan – The Holly Chamber of Commerce and the Holly Area Economic Development Task Force are teaming up this summer to help area residents and business owners hone their skills and make their businesses stronger without paying a fortune in the process. “Members of the EDTF noticed that many of the same marketing concerns were repeatedly voiced by members of the community,” Janet Leslie, coordinator for the EDTF said. “They would ask, “How can we create a better Web site without investing much money? Should we be on Facebook? How can we get our projects reported to the press? What should we do to recruit new members?” Leslie said the EDTF was quick to respond. “We thought it would be useful to present answers to these questions in a group setting so that all of our hardworking stakeholders can have access to the same body of information.”

The Holly Township Town Hall m... HOLLY TOWNSHIP, Michigan – It wasn’t exactly the turn out for which Supervisor Jesse Lambert had hoped, but those of the nearly 40 residents who did attend the township’s second annual Town Hall meeting had plenty to say.
The 90 minute meeting was held in the auditorium of Holly High School on July 22.
While matters like sewer and water services in the township, township garbage pick up, and the upcoming library millage were all discussed, the hot topic of the evening seemed to be police, fire and EMS consolidation.
