HOLLY, Michigan – Nearly three dozen Holly area community groups are partnering with the Holly Outdoor Recreation Coalition to help celebrate the community’s parks and playgrounds as part of the second annual Community Play Day on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 2 – 8 p.m. at Crapo Park in downtown Holly.
The free event celebrates Holly’s designation as a “Playful City USA” by the KaBOOM! organization of Washington D.C. Council approved a speed limit... HOLLY, Michigan – A study conducted by the Traffic Improvement Association (TIA) last fall suggests that village officials should consider bumping the speed limit along N. Saginaw Street between Oakland and Airport streets from 25 to 30 mph.
Headquartered in the city of Auburn Hills, the Traffic Improvement Association is a non-profit traffic safety corporation that is incorporated under the laws of the State of Michigan with the mission of facilitating engineering, education, and enforcement programs that reduce human and economic losses caused by traffic crashes, and improve mobility in Michigan.
Village officials discussed the matter during the April 9 Village Council meeting.

All in-stock bows and crossbow... HOLLY, Michigan – The corner of Grange Hall and N. Holly Roads will be the place to be this weekend as Spot Shooter Archery pulls out all the stops for its tenth annual “Bow Fest,” taking place from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012.
Over the course of the last 10 years, owner of Spot Shooter Archery, Jim Beasley has expanded the business three times and now nearly completely occupies Lowes Plaza located at 3525 Grange Hall Road, Holly.
The expansions have allowed Beasley and his partner, Bibi Troupe to continuously expand the inventory to include a tremendous selection of compound bows, crossbows, arrows, targets, accessories, clothing, and new this year – a full service bait and tackle shop, as well as a place to buy hunting and fishing licenses.
“This year’s Bow Fest is really a celebration of what Spot Shooter Archery has become,” Beasley said. “Over the last ten years, the business has continued to grow, and we’ve been very fortunate to develop a solid and loyal customer base here in the Holly area, and throughout southeast Michigan, really.”
