Tara A. Sturgis

Tara A. Sturgis of Gaines died Saturday, June 23, 2012. She was 28.

Tara was born in Flint on Nov.17, 1983, the daughter of Andrew and Deborah (Ambrose) Tabbert. She was a graduate of Linden High School and Central Michigan University, where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She was an employee of the Genesee County Humane Society She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and was training in Emergency Preparedness for Animal Rescue.

She is survived by her husband John; parents, Andy and Debbie Tabbert of Linden; sister Amanda Tabbert (fiancé Cody Squibb) of Lansing; father and mother-in-law, John and Patricia Sturgis of Belding; sister-in-law Nichole Sturgis of Muskegon; brother-in-law Matthew Sturgis of Lansing; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her dog Harley.

Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Friday, June 29 at Dryer Funeral Home, Holly, and from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 30 with funeral services immediately following. Elder Hollis Baker will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
