HOLLY, Michigan – The 2011 Holly Dickens Festival is looking for a few good volunteers, willing to have fun and take on the persona of  a Dickens-era character.

Dickens Volunteer Coordinator Bobbie Straub says the festival is looking for people of all ages – individuals or families interested to help out with this year’s Dickens Festival, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Dec. 10, and from noon -6 p.m. on Dec. 11 in downtown Holly.

Willing volunteers, Straub says, will need a Dickens-type costume, rich or poor. Volunteers will be asked to help with children’s games or parades, or to just participate as a “street character.”

Those wishing to volunteer or who are in need of costume assistance can contact Straub at (248) 634-7075 or via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
