Holly police sponsor second annual Protect and Serve Day

HPD will raffle off this minia... HOLLY – There will be no shortage of fun things to do in Holly on Saturday, Aug. 7 as Holly’s finest sponsor the second annual “Protect and Serve Day” from 2 until 5 p.m. at Cyclone Park in Holly.
Chief Rollie Gackstetter promises fun for the whole family with an inflatable slide and basketball game for the kids, a donut eating contest, free child identification kits, bike helmet fitting and free giveaways while supplies last, child car seat safety checks, a hands-on fire and police equipment display, a raffle to win a miniature battery-operated two child passenger fire truck and Holly police car – each valued at $300, and much more.
Following the events of Protect and Serve Day, the Holly Police Department will take on the firefighters of North Oakland County Fire Authority for a good-humored charity softball challenge at the Cyclone Park softball field.
The Downtown Development Authority and Holly Area Community Coalition will take over after the game, setting up the outdoor movie system for a free family movie night featuring, “The Bee Movie.” The movie will roll at dusk in Cyclone Park and is open to the public.
