HOLLY, Michigan – A township resident will be taking a seat on the board for Holly’s Downtown Development Authority after members of the Holly Village Council unanimously approved President Jeff Miller’s recommendation to appoint Holly Township Supervisor Jesse Lambert to the DDA.

In addition to Lambert, Miller recommended reappointing downtown businesswoman Lisa Clark to the board, and also appointing newcomer, John LaCroix, owner of Great Lakes Artisan Village on Saginaw St.

Support for Lambert and LaCroix was voiced during the March 14 DDA meeting by several DDA board members, as well as DDA Director Hope Ponsart.

“I think it would be outstanding to have the township represented on the DDA board,” Ponsart said of Lambert.  “It just makes sense to me.”

Ponsart had equally positive things to say about LaCroix, citing his enthusiasm and energy level as reasons for asking him to sit on the DDA. “He’s already put so much enthusiasm and effort into the committee he’s serving on, and came up with a really strong marketing program that I think will really help a lot of the businesses, the district and beyond.”

DDA board members Bob Hoffman and Dan Jablonski both expressed support for Lambert and LaCroix during the meeting.

On March 22, council approved Miller’s recommendation for the reappointment of Clark through 2015, the appointment of Lambert to a full term through 2015, and the appointment of LaCroix to a partial term ending September of this year.

“My appointment to the DDA board signifies a continuing trend of cooperation within Holly government,” Lambert said. “We are taking steps to work together toward a brighter future, and that future is already beginning to bear fruit with four new businesses opening last week.”

Congratulations to Mr. Lambert and Mr. LaCroix. As you are both fighters for progress, I am confident you will serve the DDA well.
