Like last year, tents for this year's Sights Sounds and Tastes of Holly will be set up between Maple Street and Civic Drive. Volunteers and sponsors from many of the participating groups were very pleasant and happy to be out and about.

Although the rain threatened on more than one occasion it didn't stop many people from enjoying the food and music.

Head counts taken throughout the day yielded attendance exceeding five hundred people.

A very big thanks to all those involved. Our community should be very proud of its Chamber of Commerce, willing sponsors and volunteers.

I consider this event a great success and would gladly volunteer my time next year.

This was a great event for Holly and its local businesses. Hats off to the MC Jesse Lambert for his enthusiasm; I look forward to more events like this in our beautiful downtown.
Sadly I feel this was overshadowed by the lack of planning by the Chamber of Commerce for the clean up. Our historic district looked like a trash heap the entire next day. Trash in the streets, over flowing from the trash bins and trash bags stacked here and there. It is shameful it was left to the Village DPW to clean up the mess on Monday over 24 hours later and on the taxpayers dime.
Get it together Chamber! Even children know you are supposed to clean up after yourself.
