HOLLY, Michigan – February is the perfect time to bring the community together for a fun and favorable gathering. That’s why the First Baptist Church of Holly is holding its third annual Chili Cook-Off this Sunday, Feb. 12, at 12:30 p.m.

Open to all – those who want to enter the contest, or those who just want to eat, the chili cook-off never disappoints!  Those wishing to enter a batch of award winning chili to the cook-off need only bring a crock pot full of the good stuff to the kitchen area of the First Baptist Church, 15030 N. Holly Rd., Holly prior to the competition.

Celebrity judges Holly Police Chief, Elena Danishevskaya, Superintendent for Holly Area Schools, Kent Barnes, Village Manager Jerry Walker and a slew of firefighters and police officers will choose the top two recipes.  First and second prize winners will walk away with $100 and $50 gas cards from Holly Gas.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the church at (248) 634-8772, or via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
