HOLLY, Michigan – Marcia Meyers and her five children were in for a huge surprise Monday afternoon as firefighters from North Oakland County Fire Authority delivered a Christmas tree and a slew of decorations just in time for Christmas.

While assisting in delivering toys to area family through the Holly Area Youth Assistance Jacobson/Quinn Toy Project on Saturday, Chief Jeremy Lintz said NOCFA employees noted that this family in particular, didn’t have any holiday decorations – not even a tree.

“The mother of the family stated that she wanted to buy a tree but they had no money for the tree this year,” Lintz said.  On Monday, the employees contacted J & B Christmas Tree Farm. “J & B not only donated a freshly cut tree, but they also donated a tree stand and some new ornaments.”

Lintz said NOCFA employees donated Christmas lights and a tree skirt.  “The crew took everything over to the family’s home this afternoon, and set the tree up for them,” Lintz said. “The kids were very excited.”
