Family Movie to benefit ‘Hugs for Horses’

HOLLY, Michigan – Students in Patterson Elementary School’s Lower Elementary Cognitively Impaired Classroom are raising funds so that they may continue to participate in Pretty Pony Pasture’s “Hugs for Horses” program.

Hugs for Horses is a five-week therapeutic horseback riding program for students in the kindergarten through third grade. The program initiates multiple disciplines – fine and gross motor, balance, laterally, posture, sensory, speech and language, cognitive, social and emotional skills.

From noon until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, Movies in the Village, 111 S. Saginaw St. will host a holiday movie party, featuring "The Polar Express" and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer." In addition to pizza and additional concessions, drawings will take place for several prizes including a “Horsey Playdate” for four riders, a 54-inch stuffed bear, horse ornaments, and several other unique prizes donated by local merchants. Even Santa Claus is expected to make a visit!

Tickets  are $5 per person or $25 for a family of five or more. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis, and are limited to the first 100 people.
