HOLLY, Michigan – Holly is a happening place these days, and yesterday, village administrators and officials,  members of Holly’s Downtown Development Authority and Chamber of Commerce, and several individuals representing Oakland County’s Main Street program converged on seven new businesses, helping the owners celebrate, and conducting Ribbon Cutting ceremonies at each location.

Among the new businesses were Suski Used Cars, 15133 N. Holly Rd., Fabulous Finds Consignment and Retail, 320 N. Saginaw St., Holly Hills Primitives, 105 Civic Dr., Real Barre, 204 S. Saginaw St., Wilkinson’s Tool Chest, 215 S. Saginaw St., Battle Alley Tattoo, 107 Battle Alley, and Avia Family Dining, 111 S. Saginaw St.

“Holly’s downtown is the busiest it’s been in 15 years,” Village Manager Jerry Walker said. “The place is hopping, and we hope to attract more businesses – and visitors – in the future.”

The seven new businesses bring a combined total of 36 new jobs to the community.

“In addition to the 36 jobs created by these new businesses, we have a position open for a new DDA Director and Main Street Manager,” Walker said. “We are looking for a leader who will continue this growth in economic development in the village and its historic downtown.”

Suski is gone already? That sure wasn't very long.

Well at least they improved the look of that property with the renovations.

I was unable to reach Andy Suski, but here is an article explaining the general gist of what happened. While I don't know for sure that the Suski in Holly is closed for good, since the signs have been taken, I'm guessing it's a done deal. Here is the link to an article about it. .../Suski_Used_Car_lots_closed .html
