Holly student receives Eagle Scout Award

HOLLY, Michigan – Matthew Michael Gagnon, 16 recently received the Eagle Scout Award, the highest advancement award offered by the Boy Scouts of America. An Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held on behalf of Matthew’s achievement on June 5. 


A member of Davisburg Troop 3, Matthew has been involved in scouting since he was 6 years old and a Tiger Cub in Cub Scout Pack 192. He completed his Eagle project last summer at Adopt-A-Pet in Fenton. He currently serves as the Chapter Secretary/Treasurer of the Chippewa Lodge 29 Order of the Arrow (OA). 


Matthew hiked the Chief Pontiac Trail in 2006, enjoys participating in conclave ceremonies, and is highly involved in OA. A skilled archer, Matthew recently accepted an archery instructor position at Lost Lake Scout Reserve for 2010 Summer Camp season. 


Matthew is a sophomore at Holly High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in track and field and hockey. His life ambition is to become an FBI agent.


Matthew’s parents, Wayne and Maureen Caunt, are both very proud of his many achievements.
