HOLLY, Michigan – The Holly Area School district adds another feather to its cap this week after Holly High School Principal Dave Nuss was named the 2012 High School Principal of the Year by the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals.
Nuss was one of two principals selected to receive the honor, with Chuck Hughes of the Hartland school district earning the other award. Nominated by Superintendent Kent Barnes, Assistant Principals, Pete LoFiego and Ellen Lounds, and several teachers, Nuss said he was informed that he won the award during Wednesday’s Flint Metro League Principals’ meeting.
Nuss is the second HAS district principal in the last eight years to receive a Principal of the Year award, as former Sherman Middle School Principal Anne Doriean was honored in 2005.
